I’m afraid I failed to take a note of the kind of engine. It was in the Science Museum; like most things in the Science Museum, it’s really technology rather than science, but I guess it’s unnecessarily pedantic to complain about that.
I’m aware that taking very close-up frame-filling shots of almost anything is an easy way to make it look striking, and that without something else to recommend them, most of the resulting pictures are instantly forgettable. I’m not sure this one has mysterious ingredient X, but I thought the colours and composition came out quite nicely.
