Graffiti

Apparently ‘graffiti’ is from the Italian meaning ‘to scratch’, which is fitting for this one. Taken in Kew Gardens; I don’t know why this tree in particular had been singled out for attention, but it was about the only one I noticed with any graffiti carved into it. I guess once it has been done once it attracts other people to copy.

I liked the juxtaposition of the official writing on the label with all the less orderly additions.
